The setup: Stage race with its own flair
The new LOWA Trail Trophy (LTT) promises pure trail running fascination: 4 stages with distances from 21 to 27 kilometers and up to 1600 meters of elevation gain on spectacular trails. During the day, the participants compete against each other in a sporting competition, then in the finish area and above all at the evening events with award ceremony, runners’ dinner and picture and video shows, the community grows together into a close-knit community.
The trails: trail running at its best
Hardly anyone knows the trails of the Alps as well as PLAN B race director Martin Hafenmair – he creates new trails every year, including for the 7-day Transalpine Run. For the LOWA Trail Trophy, he designed the most beautiful trails starting in the Allgäu. “My personal highlight is the third stage, a real panoramic firework display with guaranteed all-round views. The Lechtal Alps, Zugspitze and the Tannheim rock faces are at the ready.” See the detailed course
The time: the perfect start to the alpine trail running season
Most alpine trail running competitions do not take place before June – making the LTT the perfect start to the season. The stages are exciting and spectacular, but not too long or too demanding, so that the muscles can adapt to the strain.
The target group: for beginners and ambitious runners
The LTT appeals to a wide variety of runners: from beginners who want to try their hand at alpine running to ambitious trail runners who like to sprint fast over the trails and compete with their peers.
The training: Transalpine Run in the fall
As the first major stage race, the LOWA Trail Trophy is the perfect kick-off event for many runners to get the trail running season off to a good start. As early as May, the LTT gives participants a wonderful foretaste and introduction to other races in the middle of the up & downhills of the Alps – including the Transalpine Run (TAR), the legendary crossing of the Alps towards the end of the season in September. Whether for ambitious athletes as a preparation event for the extensive TAR or as an exciting training competition for aspiring Alpine crossers – the LOWA Trail Trophy is the perfect choice in every respect.
